The Saddle Brook Police Department hires under the rules and regulations
of the NJ Department of Personnel. These rules require a written
examination which is given at the request of the appropriate authority.
New guidelines for examination announcements and the time line for results
have been implemented by the NJDOP.
In addition, the most recent hires have been through the NJDOP Lateral
Transfer Program. Information on this program is also available on their web
site.

There are no overnight or permit parking restriction within the Township of
Saddle Brook. Areas with specific parking regulations are posted.
There is no parking on any street in Saddle Brook when the road is snow
covered. This is to allow for the proper plowing of Township streets. Cars can
be parked on the street after the snow has ceased, plows have passed through and
the streets are passable. Violation summonses are issued.

What is the procedure for fingerprinting?
Non-criminal fingerprinting is performed by officers of the Detective Bureau on Tuesdays and Thursdays
for TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS ONLY. A fee of $5.00 per fingerprint card is required, and the
applicant is required to furnish the appropriate fingerprint cards. Fingerprints are routinely taken
for school employment, banking, real estate, etc. If you are inquiring
about a firearms application, then an appointment is required as additional information
beyond the standard fingerprint card is needed which takes more time. WE
ARE NOT PERMITTED TO FINGERPRINT FOR IMMIGRATION PURPOSES. Contact

Tuesday..... 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm
Thursday.... 9:00 am to 3:00 pm
Those wishing to be fingerprinted should call 201-843-7000 in advance of
coming to headquarters to insure that an officer is available to perform
the fingerprinting. Remember to bring your fingerprint cards, a legal form of
identification and the appropriate fee for service.
How do I obtain a copy of a police report?
Police reports are available (in most cases) beginning at 12 noon of the first business day following
the initial report to police. All reports must be obtained through the Records Bureau
during normal business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm CLOSED HOLIDAYS . Click the link to

Do I have to register my burglar/fire alarm?
YES,
Local Ordinance 941 requires that all alarms (burglar/fire) that will initiate a response from
an emergency service (police/fire/ambulance) must be registered with the Saddle Brook Police Department.
This registration is for a period of one year, renewable every January. The current permit fee
is $10.00. Permit application can be obtained from the Records Bureau
during normal business hours or you can download a copy below. Failure
to register your alarm may result in summonses being issued. In addition, a summons
may be issued for each unsubstantiated alarm
responded starting with the fifth response. Fines range from $25 to $100 per

NO,
the Township of Saddle Brook does not issue resident identification cards,
however, if you need a photo ID for any purpose,
you can go to the Bergen County Clerk's Office in the County Administration
Building in
Hackensack. Bergen County
issues resident photo identification cards. There is a fee involved and you must
bring proof of residency.

to fulfill each and every request, however, due to the cost and the time
required, as well as for security reasons, we can not supply patches to individuals and collectors. Official
agency requests should be sent on departmental letterhead from the agency head
to the Saddle Brook Chief of Police. Patches will only be sent to the official department mailing address. Official requests will
be fulfilled based upon availability.
