SAFETYTOWN
A cooperative effort of the Saddle Brook Community School and Saddle Brook Police Department, with the assistance of the Saddle Brook Volunteer Fire Department, Saddle Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Saddle Brook Fire Prevention Bureau, Bergen County Police Department, and North Jersey AAA.
Safety Town is a eight (8) session program for children in kindergarten and first grade run in mid-July. Each of the sessions lasts approximatley 1 hour 15 minutes, with a different safety topic being discussed each day. The children are broken up into four (4) color teams lead by volunteer counselors. General topics of discussion include pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, play safety and 9-1-1. In addition to the general topics a different safety agency makes a presentation each day. The table below lists the typical daily topics and presenters for each session.

Safety Town has been run every summer in Saddle Brook since 1984. It is a program worth the time and energy needed, not only for the children, but for the adults involved as well.
