Saddle Brook Police Department
Uniform Patch History

We are unable to provide patches to collectors due to the overwhelming demand
placed upon us for patches through the Internet, as well as for security reasons.

The original shoulder patch of the
Saddle Brook Police Department
from the late 1950's when the Township
changed its name from the Township of
Saddle River, to the Township of Saddle
Brook. There are less than 10 of these
patches known to still exist.

In the late 1960's the patch changed to
the one pictured and was maintained as
the official shoulder patch until a complete
uniform change was implemented in 1995

The current uniform shoulder patch of the
department. It went into service in 1995.
There is a slightly modified version of this
patch which has the motto scroll of the
State seal in slightly larger lettering. This
was caused by a change in manufacturers.

This is the patch worn by officers assigned
to the Community Services Bureau, in addition
to the regular shoulder patch above. The
patch was designed by the Bureau's
original members
** The original patch pictured to the left has
an error which was not caught until after
production and issue. The manufacturer inserted the State Seal of New York instead of New Jersey. 100 incorrect patches were produced prior to the error being caught. The second order was produced correctly.

2002 saw the design and implementation of a special patch for the Department's Ceremonial Honor Guard. Sgt Richard Lasiw was responsible for the patch's design as well as the implementation of new uniforms for the squad. The newly designed uniforms are expected to be placed in service in early 2003.

We are unable to provide patches to individual collectors due to the overwhelming demand
placed upon us for patches through the Internet, as well as for security reasons.
