On March 2nd of each year officers of the Saddle Brook Police Department visit local schools and assist in the nationwide celebration of Dr. Suess' birthday known as "Reading Across America Day". The intent is to heighten the awareness of the students to the importance of reading. Each officer takes some time from their busy schedule to read stories to various classes. The Saddle Brook Police and its Community Services Bureau takes great pride in being a part of this program. 2007 marked the ninth consecutive year that the department has been involved with the program. We hope to be involved for a very long time.
